Entrepreneur Legacy and Influences

Darla is a third-generation entrepreneur with three decades of experience, and a second-generation award-winning pioneer in the Beauty & Spa Industry. Birthed into a family,  her father who owned a chain of salons for forty years. Her mother, a secretly gifted artist, devoted herself to ensuring her children’s survival.  At age nineteen, a pivotal awakening occurred when Darla met the founder of AVEDA, who became her adult mentor. This pivotal moment led her to become a teacher in the industry and trailblazer alongside the AVEDA Brand in 1990. Within her visionary capabilities, she envisioned and ushered in a movement that blended business and spirituality for the purpose of healing, creating the first “DaySpa Concept” in the Midwest, deeply rooted in the body-mind-spirit lexicon, and began winning awards around her success and speaking around this subject. 

Through her evolving definition of success for 30 years—a harmony rather than relentless hustle—she has founded and co-owned more than five businesses. (1990-2026). Each one served as a sanctuary, a space for personal soul discovery, and a place where women flourish. These environments nurtured thriving individuals, grounded and growing in purpose, freedom, sovereignty, feminine wisdom, and balance.

Global Exploration & Transformation

Darla’s path has spanned the globe, leading her into sacred circles, ceremonies, and deep study of the healing arts, creative arts, and self-examination. She has learned alongside shamans, scientists, religious leaders, and corporate leaders. These transformative experiences—from plant medicine ceremonies to corporate and leadership conferences to spiritual healing modalities—have shaped Darla into a visionary leader, retreat facilitator for ancestral healing & spiritual direction, teacher, creative, and award-winning environmental entrepreneur.  Darla has also served on two non-profit environmental boards with various Indigenous cultures, carrying and living her message, “Heal Your Life, Heal the Planet, Mother Earth is calling.”

The Beauty of Surrender

Darla embraces what she calls “The Beauty of Surrendering to the Arms of the Creative.” By letting go of the illusion of control, she discovered true freedom—not through less responsibility, but by living in truth and following my inner calling, guided by the impulses and heartbeat of the Creative and trusting the authority of her own living heart.  Through personal challenges—including a childhood marked by chaos, poverty, neglect, abuse, addictions, and later battles with emotional and mental health—Darla has transformed her wounds into wisdom. This spiritual warfare was one she was determined to heal, overcome, thrive, and live life in balance.  She is deeply grateful to the Creative and to her unwavering faith for leading her on a journey of self-discovery, healing, spiritual evolution, and liberation and most importantly to serve women and the feminine rising, at this divine timing as the Matriarch is taking her rightful place in the world. Darla has a wider view, one that comes from her life experience and intends to teach and contribute to ushering in this new wave of consciousness inspiring a wider view purpose of healing and balance for humanity and the planet, Mother Earth, intricately connected wound and Womb.
